Like to fly from an aircraft carrier but...

Dec. 20, 2006

I sometimes want to fly from an aircraft carrier. In this case I add --carrier=Nimitz to command-line options at the Options tab on the launcher. Bad thing about this is that I almost always forget to clear the option so I fly from the carrier next time I launch the FlightGear. hmmm, that's no good.

By the way, how many users know how to use aircraft carriers, or do they know these are available? According to Carrier How To, you need to uncomment a line in preferences.xml. I don't think many Mac users want to do this as Finder doesn't show the contents of FlightGear.app by default.

I guess it is good to add carriers to the airport lists, so updated airports.plist and some ruby scripts. it's nothing. Now, I can use aircrat carriers as easy as airports. it's handy, isn't it?

Oh, I need to make a patch for preferences.xml too.

Phew, it's so hard to land A6M2 as I'm not that good at three-point landing. Controling tail-gear aircraft is not easy at all.

Please DO NOT post a crash log here. it's hard to read and is not worth reading for most of users. Email it to me directly with some additional information including exact FlightFear version, machine spec, and what was you doing when it went crash. Thank you.
