I've heard some users are struggling with FG crash (before you crash the aircraft yourself :-p) when using CitationX, 777-200ER, or b1900d. This problem happens when Aircraft is adding a menu inside it's script (and this is a Mac specific bug).
It is already fixed on my local end and a new 2.6.0 package will be made soon (Now I'm working on some more issues to be fixed). Meanwhile you can use the quick-fix updater available at: http://macflightgear.sourceforge.net/wp-content/uploads/launcher/2.6.0/GUIUpdater.tar.gz[...]
OK, I made RC2 to improve more stability and performance of 2.6.0. Ever since RC1 was released, I got many bug-reports and feedbacks, and these helped me make RC2. I really appreciate contributers' effort and time.
The Improvements from RC1 includes:
- Fixed: FlightGear doesn't start when the "start flight" button is pressed if the folder for the log file is missing. [...]
Here's the updater for GUI launcher of 2.6.0-RC1. This fixes the following bugs and is recommend for all users
- FlightGear doesn't start when the "start flight" button is pressed if the folder for the log file is missing.
- View Log doesn't work properly
- Aircraft preview doesn't work properly
Now we're getting closer to the next official release!
I'm glad to let you know that we're going to release 2.6.0 soon. Now 2.6.0-RC1 (first release candidate package) is available for Macs. The objective of this package is to improve the quality of the official 2.6.0 release (on 17-Feb-2012). So we would like you to help us improve the quality by downloading it, using it, and sending us bug reports as well as constructive feedbacks. Please consult "ReadMe" enclosed in the dmg package and Note below before you post a bug report. Some known problems are written in that file. I hope you enjoy the bleeding edge of FlightGear.
You can download 2.6.0-RC1 package from Downloads page on this site or source forge
Note: There are two changes on the GUI Launcher and the Simulator menu. Now in-sim FlightGear menu appears on the Mac menu bar just like other Mac Apps. Another thing is that ~/.fgfs is not used anymore. it's moved to ~/Libarary/Application Support/FlightGear.[...]
